Boyer Law Firm is an optimistic firm. We believe that a sustainable environment can co-exist with the necessity for economic growth, but it will take new thinking. We recognize that our activities have an impact on the environment not only locally but also nationally and internationally. We want to limit these impacts as much as possible and view compliance with environmental law not as a benchmark but as a minimum.
We are committed to ensuring that our business is environmentally responsible and believe it is essential for us to achieve continuous improvements and support external initiatives. To address key issues of concern and minimize our environmental impact we are commited to:
- Remaining carbon neutral and minimizing our emissions of other greenhouse gases,
- Reducing the production of waste and recycle,
- Efficiently using energy, water, manufactured products (like paper) and natural resources.
These commitments are set out in our environment policy, which is central to our business. The environment policy is reviewed on an annual basis. We are one of the first Floridian members of the Legal Sector Alliance, a joint initiative on sustainability by the legal profession out of the United Kingdom.
OUR ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT
Firm Initiatives
Boyer Law Firm limits the use of paper printing in its offices and has made all offices as paperless as possible by being able to retrieve documents that have been scanned to our network. All offices use double sided printing to eliminate the waste of paper. Thermostats have timers on all A/C units that are timed to shut off at the end of weekdays and during weekends. We have also changed all of our light bulbs to be energy efficient.
Boyer Law Firm’s initiatives include ink and toner cartridge recycling, videoconferencing and teleconferencing to reduce travels, electronic distribution of management reports, internal communications, power-conserving flat screen LCD monitors, and copiers, printers, and computers with energy-efficient “sleep mode” functions.
