Eris Vaughn-Flam is an experienced business attorney having represented countless businesses over the last three decades, in the services, manufacturing, retail, financial, and software industries, in the areas of corporate law, commercial transactions , real estate, and litigation matters. In addition, Mr. Vaughn-Flam has deep experience in the area of Intellectual Property. As Mr. Vaughn-Flam explains it, you cannot be a business attorney without a thorough knowledge of Intellectual Property because the foundation of every business today is branding, content and technology – all areas of Intellectual Property. Finally, Mr. Vaughn-Flam has been counsel for International Blimpie Corporation for decades,  and thus has extensive experience in franchising.

Mr. Vaughn-Flam has been previously involved as both counsel and a principal in the development of numerous startup companies, including:

  • Satelcom, a Dominican telecommunications company,
  • Neutocrete, a franchiser of proprietary construction material,
  • The Original New York Improv, a national brand comedy club, and numerous entertainment productions.

In the past, Mr. Vaughn-Flam has distinguished himself:

  • Having won an appeal in the case Dallal v. The NY Times, concerning groundbreaking copyright issues as applied to the Internet;
  • Concluding a music infringement action concerning Madonna’s hit Song “Holiday,” where for the first time ring tone technology was utilized as a critical element in the prosecution of the claim;
  • Representing the plaintiff in Hootie and the Blowfish v. Newman, in what is regarded as the largest management dispute on record; and
  • Mr. Vaughn-Flam previously acted as lead litigation counsel in the much-publicized multi-national securities lawsuit Daiwa Securities v. RCMCAF Ltd.

From 2000-2015 Mr. Vaughn-Flam was partner of Sanders Ortoli Vaughn-Flam Rosenstadt LLP. From 1985 to 1999 Eric Vaughn-Flam was the Senior and Founding partner of the law firm Selverne Vaughn-Flam & Mandelbaum.

Mr. Vaughn-Flam is married with two grown daughters. Before practicing law Mr. Vaughn-Flam was a successful fine artist, having sold over 100 paintings. He is an owner of family bratwurst manufacturing and restaurant business in Nurnberg Germany dating from 1431.  He enjoys tennis and sailing.
