Protecting Property Rights

It is Copyright & Trademark Month here at Boyer Law Firm!

When is the last time you assessed the value of your intellectual property? Your unique brand or and logo may be worth more than you think. A brand or logo, as a creative expression, is property (intellectual property). It may be worth protecting these property rights to keep others from using your brand or stealing the goodwill you’ve built over time.  A federal trademark would give you the nationwide protection you need to keep others from using your brand. If you’ve developed a particularly unique website design, video, or even photo, you may qualify for copyright registration. A registered copyright would give you the right to charge others a royalty fee for using your “work”.
